Lessons
Our instructors have traveled around the globe and have seen first hand the good (and the not-so-good!) training methods used at foreign schools. We have taken the best and combined it with the HPAC requirements for a safe and well-rounded cirriculum.
HPAC P1 (Beginner)
This is an introductory level course. First flights are confined to the training hill as our focus is on safety and ensuring future pilots fully understand the basics before launching from our high mountain sites. Just as you would expect to learn to ski the bunny hill before a black diamond run, we teach control techniques on the ground before introducing flights off the training hills.
HPAC P2 (Novice)
After completing this course you will have the skills and knowledge to fly solo without instructor supervision. Your HPAC rating card is recognized in most countries around the world, and international equivalency cards are available if you're planning an epic trip to foreign sites.
Working towards your next ratings (P3, P4) involves…flying! Flying in various conditions, at new sites…all to gain more experience and build upon your existing skills.
HPAC P3 (Intermediate) and P4 (Advanced)
HPAC has recently rewritten the rating requirements for all levels. Pilots now have to demonstrate certain skills in addition to writing the exams (i.e. spot landing - the distance from the target changes for each level). We are excited to see everyone implement the same standards across the province as well as the country!
More information on the new ratings is on the HPAC website
Jet Set Paragliding offers a number of courses and coaching options to help you on your paragliding journey. For instance, one requirement of the Advanced Rating is passing the Transport Canada air regulations exam (HAGAR). We run a study course 1-2 times per year (based on demand) and also sell a comprehensive 100-page study guide for pilots who wish to study on their own.
