Paragliding:
a visual journey
Follow along with us as adventurers take to the skies for the first time on a tandem, learn valuable paragliding skills or even catch a glimpse of pilots just goofing around!
I'd heard/read online that the road up to Mt Cheam was closed, which would ruin our planned hike and fly from there this Sunday. I decided to check it out myself the morning while testing out the new 4x4 functions in my FJ. The road was open (called Forestry to confirm when I got home) and the deep cross ditches were no problem in 4-lo! It was such a gorgeous day to be in the forest that even the deer up ahead on the road barely ambled off as I approached!

We will be doing a few hike & fly trips up Mt Cheam this summer, and so some pictures from trips past will be making appearances! Here's the view looking back to Spoon Lake (trail head/parking is off to the right, you can see the road zig-zagging up), still lots of hiking to get up to launch from this point but it's a nice spot to look around and catch your breath. Another "oldie" (2008?). Monica & I about to start the 2+ hour hike up from the parking lot. There is usually snow until late July (confirmed by some hikers last week) so lots of time for everyone to train for this gorgeous hike and fly! |
